Do you want amazing garments like Designer Joi?
Part of the success of Joi’s designs is because of the selection of quality (but not necessarily the most expensive) fabrics that are made well, look natural, and sew well in a variety of designs.
Fabric Vault Fabrics from Designer Joi are handpicked fabrics that she uses in her studio with her actual designs and clients. You won’t find hundreds of fabrics, but what you will find are consistent staples such as twill, jersey, cotton, and others that are re-orderable and come in a variety of colors. So when you find one you love and want it in a different color you know what you are getting.
Joi will only put her name on a fabric if she uses it, and she has worked in fabric sourcing for over 24 years in the fashion industry and home sewing industry. Part of the challenge is just knowing where to get the right stuff.
Did you know…
…that many fabric stores and even manufacturers sell fabric, but are not experts in how those fabrics perform in the sewing and wearing of them?
Joi has a saying that sewing is all about the right “recipe”. You need the right fabric, with the right pattern, thread, and fit. You can be the best sewist and have a top-of-the-line machine, but that does not mean you sew successfully with every fabric.
Did you know…
…not every version of every suggested fabric in a pattern will sew well?
Take Jersey Knits for example; any jersey simply will not do. For best results, you want to select a well-tested fabric for optimum results. That is what Designer Joi’s Fabric Vault is all about.
Don’t miss Fabric Vault updates
Joi will be adding about 20 quality staple fabrics that are available in a diverse variety of colors that sew well.
No need to search all over the internet for different versions of that specific fabric. Knowing you have one go-to place for the same “best” fabric in a variety of colors will save you time and provide sewing success.
Of course, there will be some limited edition Designer Cuts available and you will want to snag those right away.
To learn more about specific fabrics, and new styles and uses, join Joi on Facebook during Sewing Time Live every Thursday at 1 PM CST for fabric features or ask questions.
