Enjoy a one-hour personalized online ZOOM or in-studio consultation with Designer Joi Mahon.
A customized consultation is an ideal time to work one-on-one with Joi for coaching and project management. Clients have booked a consulation with Joi to cover the following types of sewing assistance and support: help creating a design plan for sewing and organization of a specific project, customized sewing lessons for basic skills, tips and ideas for running a sewing business and working with sewing and design clients, exploring product development, fabric and aesthetic evaluations to best suit your fabric sewing needs and skills, and help with a new sewing endeavor such as sewing for a family wedding (this is a popular one). This is a fantastic opportunity to learn from Joi and get a plan started. Please remember this is a consultation and not a complete course.
Once you purchase your time, the studio will contact you for scheduling. Please keep in mind that bookings may have a wait time of up to 2 weeks from the date of ticket purchase. Zoom consultations are subject to approval based on the topic, needs, existing related content, and scheduling constraints.
Tips to make your ZOOM experience the best:

- Once a consultation time is agreed upon, A Zoom link will be emailed to the email address used to book your time. It will be emailed approximately 30 minutes before your booked time, and Joi will join the Zoom about five minutes prior.
- Make sure you have the latest version of Zoom.
- Restart your computer to ensure all drivers and updates are up to date.
- Test your camera and be on-screen and ready for your session a few minutes before you begin.
- Mute all background noise such as TV, radio, etc…
- Prepare all your questions, samples, and items needed for the ZOOM.
- Any time spent troubleshooting technology is deducted from your booked time, so it is recommended that you test all settings at least an hour before the session. You do not need to be logged into the session to test these things.
- Have a notebook ready for notes and plan questions ahead of time. Make your consultation time worth your while.
- Be ready to have a fun time studying your garment and fitting needs.
