This knit top has been designed with the sewing beginner in mind, but also as a capsule garment that you can make to wear by itself or in combination with a sweater or sweater vest overlay as a staple in your wardrobe. The pattern features only three pattern-pieces, and only requires 1-2 yards of fabric (see recommended Designer Joi Knits in our online store). The Capsule Knit Top can be hand-sewn, machine-sewn, or serged (optional) and may be finished with a deconstructed method or complete with a variety of finished edges. The pattern size fits a 2/4 to a 26/28, with an easy-fit style. Of course, you can make the top as loose or snug as you desire. Featured in Joi’s 4th and latest book Sewing Clothes (2024). If you are new to sewing this is a great place to start. If you are an experienced sewist then use this pattern as a base for your wardrobing and add stitches and finishes to your liking.
